In Mutation, players find themselves trapped in an hostile dungeon, exploring environments haunted by a constantly Mutating creature and other horrors. Each playthrough offers a unique experience, thanks to the procedural generation of maps and enemies, making every level a new challenge. Players must navigate traps and rely on crafting essential items to survive. A cornerstone of the gameplay is the crafting system. Materials collected within the dungeons ( ranging from chemical substances to mechanical components) can be used to create vital tools such as healing kits, improvised weapons, and devices to slow down or distract the monster. In an environment where every decision counts, crafting is not just a mechanic but an indispensable art of survival.

The tension in Mutation is heightened by its procedural nature: not only do levels change with every new game, but the monster pursuing the player undergoes unique mutations that alter its behavior, speed, sensory abilities and lethality inflicting different maluses to the player. This unpredictability forces players to think quickly and adapt to the changing circumstances, making each encounter with the enemy different and terrifying.

A Promise Worth Watching Currently in Early Access, Mutation already presents itself as a solid proposition for horror enthusiasts. The development team ( that is made by only one developer and some friends that cure the media and story of the game ) has planned further improvements and content, including new crafting materials, additional thematic levels, and more mutations for the monster. The player community is encouraged to provide feedback to help refine the final experience.
